We can all find ways to give back to our community. Ways I have given back include being an active supporter of civic and charitable organizations, including Halo House Foundation, Human Rights Watch, Vital Voices, Global Houston, Houston’s International Community, Transition Co-Chairman of Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Friends of American University of Afghanistan. It includes being a lifetime member of the NAACP, a National Advisory Board Member of the Tahirih Justice Center, and serving as committee member of the Bush-Clinton Ike Coastal Recovery Fund.

 As a community business person, I have promoted the economic development and sustainability of the City of Houston, and have served as former Chair of the Political Engagement Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership.
